Eco-vandalism

26 November 2011

Just want to own up to being our own eco-vandals in a couple of ways.  I used the polythene (which we bought to waterproof the shed when it was no more than a wood frame) to wrap some of the boat foam that was so useful at Bobstock, to keep it for next year.  Unfortunately I was not at that time wise in the ways of polythene, and now find that it breaks down in sunlight.  If you try to pick it up it is so brittle you’re left holding a thumb-and-finger sized piece, while the rest is in little bits in the long grass.  Horrific.  Need to try to hoover it up.  Meanwhile, Dave was clearing out the van in order to get the band gear in and left the sump oil container where it could leak slowly into the ground.  Exxon Valdez all over again (if on a minute scale).  Not proud of ourselves.
