All
this time there’s been no action on the building site whatsoever. Constantine is trying to finalise the
accounts for the work to date and we are waiting impatiently to know whether
there is enough cash left in the pot to get the rafters on. We’ve had some lovely sunny days and Dave has
started sanding the rough wood and spraying a preservative against termites and
mould. But he needs at least two days of
dry weather before the wood is able to be worked on, so the job is very
intermittent. We are getting more and
more anxious to get some sort of roof covering on, to protect the wood already
installed, as the lovely yellow pine is getting black streaks from the damp. But no sign from Constantine.
We had errands in Lefkas town so we took Sid for a romp on
Windmill beach, north of the town. Sid
loves a swim.
