The highest uprights go up – the posts through the mezzanine
that support the main roof beam. Very
exciting. But then all the wood was used
up and Constantine said he had to go work out the monies spent to date and see
how the budget was going and what we could still afford. Scary.
Oh, and he dropped in the information that we would have to pay Greek
VAT (23%) on the spend. Very worrying,
as I’d assumed that VAT had been spent as we went along – I haven’t held back
anything for tax, whoops! Still, I suppose that’s what bank loans are
for. Meanwhile, we’re hoping
desperately that the budget will reach to a roof covering, ideally clay tiles:
vernacular and biodegradable.
So the build is held up again: waiting on wood delivery
which is waiting on being ordered which is waiting on the budgeting being done
