Measuring and Fixing

6 - 10 May 2020

A busy few days doing some measuring and carpentry.

In our on-going quest to get the house legal, we had another request from Konstantine.  Could we measure where the sewage soak-away installation was.  Duly done and sent.

Dave set to making an improved feeding hatch into the chicken pen.

Originally, he had just cut three sides of a square out of the wire and sewn some galvanised through to firm it up.  It has always been a bit scratchy and scruffy, so in our mission to update the chicken run, this came next.

Fixing a flap into a frame on the wire.

Improving wheelbarrow access.  This ramp folds up to close the door, and then neatly holds the door open while barrowing in and out with straw.
Meanwhile, on the stone bank below the house, one at least of the nasturtiums has got the idea that it is meant to spread out and break up the sea of stone.

Another spot of measuring and fixing.  I finished a painting I've been working on for some time, and had to do the scary job of gluing and screwing to the back a bar to take hanging loops (without screwing through the canvas at the front)!

The finished painting - from a photo of Dave's hand playing guitar.
