Having run out of stones to build any more terraces for the time being, we moved our attention to the existing terraced 'Moringa' beds that are sorely overgrown. Variously hoeing, forking and plucking, we finished the top bed, and applied compost manure, then started clearing along the middle bed.
Having run out of stones to build any more terraces for the time being, we moved our attention to the existing terraced 'Moringa' beds that are sorely overgrown. Variously hoeing, forking and plucking, we finished the top bed, and applied compost manure, then started clearing along the middle bed.
The middle bed, two-thirds cleared. Ready for planting one of the two new Almond trees we bought at the garden centre
The round bed overrun with convolvulus - now mulched with cardboard weighed down with weeds from the other beds.
The middle bed finished and manure-mulched
The lower bed, also weeded and ready for mulch. Showing a touch of frost in the morning one day.
The contour beds, planted with some seedlings from the garden centre - we have decided to check regularly in order to learn what to plant when - this batch includes parsley, selenos (a salad celery unknown to us before Greece), red cabbage, spinach, beetroot, and some early potatoes.
We will find out by trial what can cope with such early planting.
