Cat-alepsy

Friday 4 November 2011

Not a writing day, as things had to be done in Lefkas town.  Persuaded Rob that he should see a physio about his aching shoulder, which had been giving him trouble with all the guitaring in Albania.  Dave sorted that out, while I went for a bit of shopping, and came back with this cat toy – guaranteed irresistible to cats!

We tied it off on a bit of elastic and waited for the animal magnetism to work.  Skitso got interested, with Schrödie watching , and had a great time playing with it, rolling and fighting and very quickly got entirely entangled (proper cat people could’ve warned us, I expect).

So we had a vicious feral moggie with a leg caught in the elastic, dashing round the plastic table, getting more and more trapped and more frantic.  Dave, being heroic, went to the rescue (I was going to cut the elastic from a distance) .  It would’ve been unfeeling to get a photo – but the image of a mad sparking cat with all claws stuck in Dave’s thigh while he tried to free it would’ve been worth having!

Eventually the elastic broke.  The cats are now seriously traumatised by the pink tetrapod, and only have to hear its rattle to flinch in fear and loathing.  Not so irresistible!
