Collecting our oil

First thing Monday we went back up to Vournikas to collect our very own Goat Bottom Extra Virgin Olive Oil.  Actually, it's not likely to be our own olives, they'll just have weighed them and thrown them into the mulch, from which we get 9 litres.

We weren't experienced enough to think about taking a container so we borrowed this one from Stefanos.  Nine litres doesn't seem so very much after all!  It looked to me like old sump oil, but smelled strongly of olives, so it should be okay.  It's thick and cloudy at the moment - needs to stand for six months or so, apparently.












The boys were clearly keen to get on with more hard work:
