Saturday 10 March
Despite the hangover, sleep deprivation and serious muscle ache not only from the cartwheels but also from dancing until 4 am; we dragged ourselves back down the hill the next morning and put in another day’s cleaning. This time I picked the patio windows: about 24 square metres of mucky glass, up and down a ladder, rubbing and polishing. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Much whinging. By the time the real bar opening happened, I was a zombie.
The boys put on a show, on the new stage, with hand-painted backdrop by Helen, taken from a Queen album cover.
The electrician who has done all the lighting and power, Ilios, is also in a band. He brought his band along for a drink, and he played a couple of acoustic numbers. I took this without the flash, it looked very atmospheric at the time.
As did Rob
