I was running errands in Lefkas town on Friday and came across this still life with rubber gloves. Something about it attracted me. I walked past and then turned back to take the photo.
I also called in on Dieter to take him the spider-sabotaged inverter, and he said we didn't really need a second one, why didn't we put the two lots of batteries together and wire the second lot of panels into the whole thing? As long as the two sets of panels (which are different Wattages and apparently the lower wattage panels would reduce the output of the higher wattage ones) are separate, and have their own regulator, they can be combined at the battery bank.
So on Saturday Dave rewired the new panels, seen here in all their glory on the new frame, and laboriously moved the battery box - unwired the batteries, moved each one (27 kilos each) separately and then reconstructed the box next door to the old one.
This morning, Sunday, we woke up to a bright, sunny but cold world, and put on the camper heater - without running the generator. Woo-hoo! Much excitement and self-congratulation. And some Yorkshire caution from Dave - best not celebrate yet, wait and see how it does ... but I think, celebrate while you can, even one day without the generator is a plus.
