Went out this morning for a chilly pee in the undergrowth, and noticed strange white hairs on the rocket leaves - turned out they'd frozen stiff in the night. No water in the taps, so we're assuming the water supply has frozen somewhere, hopefully not in our pipe as we don't know what we'd do about a burst (the plumber didn't put in any shut off that we know about). The water started dribbling through after 9ish, so maybe that problem is resolved - until tonight.
The gas chose this morning to run low. There's a point when there's still gas in the bottle but the pressure drops too low to feed the heater. So we have to turn off the heater, but being skinflints (and unwilling to waste gas) we use the dregs on cooking until it's all gone. So no heater.
The second morning we've had enough electricity to turn on the heater (without using the generator) and we run out of gas, and water ... At least we've got plenty of wood for the stove in the shed.
