Storage Solutions

You may remember the original plan was to put anything we wanted to store into an unused part-built villa of Mike2’s in Sivota.  The downside to this plan was the distance between us and the storage and that we’d have to weather and vermin-proof it.

Unexpectedly, an alternative had come up quite recently :  Andy and Heather Devine from the De’Vine Bar in Nidri had bought a stone cottage to renovate and were downsizing, including looking to dispose of a closed trailer – the type used to move motorbikes around: approx 8 ft by 5 ft and 6 ft high.  It wasn’t a cheap option, but it was small and neat and weather-proof, and we could locate it on the land so everything we were keeping was in one place.

Also, Jackie and Howard had agreed to take the apartment on after us, and they were without furniture, as they own a villa in Geni, which is rented out during the summer.  So they were willing to take any fittings we didn’t want, including the fridge and cooker.

First things first, then, let’s get the trailer onto the land.  Right, we need someone with a tow-bar on their vehicle.  Tree, a friend from yacht racing, and more recently the Panto (Fairy Liquid), had volunteered, so we arranged to meet her and Mike at the De’Vine at 11 o’clock Tuesday.
