Ups and Downs

1 - 6 October 2016

Work on lathing and plastering the interior of the living room continues.  All the fiddly lathing around the pipes embedded in the wall for eventual heat transfer from the 'conservatory' takes time, but by Thurs 6th all the sections along the south wall are finally complete.

Back at ground level, I had just finished plastering the middle right panel, when Beso, having finished the varnishing outside, came in.  I said: 'Careful, don't touch that panel, it's wet'.  That's why we have a clear hand-print in the plaster.  We decided to keep it.

And major problems show up in the electric system.  A solar panel regulator is malfunctioning, so that one bank of batteries is overheating and losing efficiency.  We are rationing our electricity use and have ordered a new one.

Dmitri has another free day and comes to help with the plastering again.

The internal wall between the entry and the living room, and the first panel of the bathroom wall are done
