With surprising repetition, Helen produced some chickens for us, a year and a day since she brought the last three during Bobstock. We had been siesta’ing, and missed the phone calls, until we woke up to be told that Rob had four chickens for us to collect from the Bar. Dave rushed off to get them, while I walked up to Mum’s apartment for supper as planned. We had no feed and no bedding, they had to make do with their cardboard box overnight. At least Dave had reinforced the chicken run. Schrodinger was very interested to see the new arrivals.
There are four, two bigger ones and two smaller ones. The bigger ones may be ready to lay in a month or two, and will apparently look after the little ones. I named them Groucho (large and dark), Chico (large and pale), Harpo (small and fluffy) and Zeppo (may be a boy!) but Dave is still too traumatised by last time to risk getting familiar.
